This is my contribution for the 'mini-comp: terrains' from TerraGeneration. Terrain is exported from Mojoplanet 'Nenamo', on which I did a nearly two-hour-research for finding a nice area. Inside the RAR-file are a 2049x2049 *.ter as well as a 513x513 version for the unregistered users.

Edit

A first render of this terrain could be seen here -> [link]

/Edit

Hope you like it! Have fun!

Thanks Elly! I've made a bunch of terrains in GeoControl, where I think a couple of them are a lot better; but unfortunately I have combined them 3 to 5 other terrains - and on Renderosity I had huge trouble a short while back, cause when I submitted a pic there, I have placed a link to that terrain here on dA and a guy there has meant i would rob his work, cause one of the terrains I took for combining was made by this guy (a very markant and beautiful terrrain indeed named 'ShadowCatcher', one of my favorites - therefore I used it often for combining) I told this guy that it is more than likely that thisone was involved, but I didn't remember from which terrains I have combined due to my HD-crash, so I didn't mention it.
But he didn't believe me, though he has need only to download it from here, than he would has seen clearly the difference. Oh well - what to do  However, since this incident I'm quite unsure about that topic. What do you mean about - I would like to post some of them, cause there are really great ones, not only for that competition but for sharing it with the TG-community; maybe you could give me some advice - that would be great!

On a sidenote - since 9 hours I didn't loose connection, as the log say (I was visiting my mother, she's currently ill, cause we have very hot weather here at the moment, and that makes it more bad unfortunately, so I have to care for her more than regular) - such a long time wasn't online for weeks, so I hope it will remain and I can answer all the comments I've got (153 comments, 1902 deviations, 125 journals and a lot of faves and watches at the moment). How is 'Drueck mir die Daumen' best translated to English? ;p

Oh, I'm sorry for your run-in with the terrain owner. I think you should still use good terrains in your art, but perhaps if you ask the creators for permission to used their terrains in your own creations they won't go objecting afterwards. To me it's like so many folks here that submit brushes or stock. They want people to use their material, but to either ask their permission and/ or give credit. I guess if someone has given permission they can't raise a stink afterwards, and if someone feels really strongly about their art and don't want to share - well, I guess that'll have to be the end of it. But at least you know where you stand beforehand, rather than having poured your own creativity into a project only to find out afterwards that the owner of a part of it is not happy.

Aso I am so sorry to read about your mother! I know from talking to my folks back home that's it's just too hot, and of course if you are ill that makes it so much worse. I think it's wonderful you are dedicating so much of your time and effort into helping her and I hope it will pay off and that she will get better.

For "drueck mir die Daumen" in English you say "keep your fingers crossed". And of course I shall do both! The best to you - and to your mother!

Much thanks Elly! That seems like a good way to avoid such things in future time; I'm just wondering why such things don't come from my own brain :stupidme:
And a load of thanks also for your good wishes, as well as for the translation.
